Job Description:

6-9 month consulting role

Server side role involved in building core technology for US Equities Trading Applications.   
Responsibilities include:

Scope of Role 
Spending 90% of time performing direct development related activities such as coding, design, configuration management, and reviewing work product.

o	8+ years of experience in server side C++.
o	Extensive development expertise in high-performance, multi-threaded programming (thread pools, mutex, critical segments, etc.) 
o	Experience with some form of high performance persistence systems such as flat files, or in-memory storage 
o	Expertise with development on a Unix and/or Linux environment, preferably Solaris 8 / Red Hat 
o	Expertise in network programming and understanding of network protocols.
o	Requires excellent verbal and written communications skills 
o	Must be able to explain concepts and ideas clearly and concisely to both business and development personnel 
o	Experience with some form of high performance RDBM systems such as Oracle

Optional Requirements: 
•  Prefer 5+ years expertise with interprocess communications using sockets, Tibco RV, or similar technologies or understanding of concepts.
•  Working knowledge of the FIX protocol and practical issues surrounding it's use 
•  Working knowledge of order state handling for equities. 
•  Experience with development in a financial (preferably equities execution) setting, or development on a high throughput, transaction-oriented system 
•  Experience with building systems that have high availability
