Job Description:
Purpose The Program Management Office (PMO) is responsible for the successful implementation of OneSource programs. This includes, but is not limited to, large scale Relocations, large Managed Maintenance programs, Triage programs, and R&D projects. The PMO provides leadership and tool utilization to develop project plans, risk analysis & abatement plans, quality management systems, software setup and configuration, and operational team/process development. It also supports the field teams by driving engagement of appropriate resources from throughout the organization to meet or exceed the program objectives both during the implementation and continuous improvement phases of the program life. All PMO resources are focused on applying best practices in the development, initiation, planning, execution, control, and closing of projects in a fast paced cross-functional environment. The PMO is comprised of 5 to 8 globally deployed direct reports and an extended team of regional project managers that report to the Field Service organization. This role will drive the strategic and tactical direction of the Program Management team to ensure the above is accomplished in an effective manner while performing the duties directly, as required. Responsibilities · Provide program leadership and management to ensure overall program success · Facilitates engagement of the appropriate organizational resources · Support pre-sales activities, ensuring proposed contracts are executable and identifying risks and timescales · Developing and Implementing Quality Management Systems · Inventory ordering and control · Implementing site based maintenance management system · Supporting field in developing technical support and site based teams to support OneSource programs · Management and participation in review meetings · Creating and implementation of Service Level agreements, Statements of Work, and Master Service Agreements. · Development of processes that correlate with the customer’s requirements · Coordinating the necessary IT infrastructure setup · Continuous improvement of operational performance and processes · Support and Execute Site Inventory Audits Critical Success Factors Ø Technical Skills: Demonstrated leadership success is critical; Experience in the service sector and/or laboratory environment is a plus. Scientific and technical background or knowledge in relevant scientific disciplines. Bachelor’s degree required, in a scientific field is a plus ; Master in Business Administration desired ; Sales and/or Technical Support experience and international work experience a plus. Ø Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proven interpersonal and team skills. Effectively communicates with, influences, and engages all levels of the organization; translates technical decisions/strategies into business terms and implications; produces clear, understandable documentation geared for all audiences. Ø Team Skills: Demonstrates ability to work with cross functional teams to drive initiatives and solve technical and process problems. Must show ability to influence rather than control resources to ensure project success. Ø Business & Organization Knowledge: Understands the PerkinElmer business and Service offerings. Demonstrated business acumen including process orientation, strategic thinking skills, analytical skills, working knowledge of financial statements and financial analysis required. Ø Change Management: Exhibits an assertive personality with a strong bias for action, and a results-orientation; tackles tough problems with firm deadlines while navigating standard organizational challenges and resistance to change. Ø IT Background: Understanding of service management systems is vital to success. Detailed use of Microsoft project is strongly desired. Ø Statistical Ability: Six Sigma statistical analysis and project management skills are key skills. Program Management Institute (PMP) and Blackbelt certification a plus. Ø Innovation: Broad knowledge of the laboratory environment and requirements coupled with the ability to develop custom solutions to meet the changing needs of the customer. Provide vision of our service offering and implementation strategies to remain best in class. Requirements · Bachelor’s degree (In Science a plus); 7 to 10 years program management experience; PMP certification or equivalent and Six Sigma Blackbelt strongly desired. · Demonstrated leadership success in a technical environment (Field Service and/or Laboratory Experience, desired) · Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams and drive initiatives; Demonstrated success in remote management of a professional team. · Proven operational ability to visualize, identify steps and implement processes · Extensive knowledge of business software systems and associated operational processes · Strong bias for action and champion of positive change · Ability to travel extensively
