Job Description:
Position Summary The engineer will be involved with all stages of creating electrical equipment for the Navy and Marine markets. This will include the development of winning proposals, leading project design teams, developing design drawings, interfacing with the customer, and supporting assembly and test. Duties and Responsibilities • Applies knowledge of electronics design, machinery automation, sensors and controls, and/or variable frequency drives in order to effectively and efficiently design, troubleshoot, and validate products up to the module level. • Assist in creation and evaluation of module level architectures to develop high technology products within a concurrent engineering environment. • Validates module performance in order to prove the technical design through analysis, simulation and/or laboratory test. • Generate or support the creation of accurate drawings and reports to effectively document and communicate a design to internal and external customers. • Assist with creating the conceptual designs, technical documentation, and budget estimates for bid and proposals. • Analyze and comprehend Product and Military specifications to ensure product or program compliance. Uses the requirements to drive design efforts. Independently develop and propose corrective action to project and procedural problems identified. • Communicates with the customer and internal management as the secondary technical expert on assigned programs in order to effectively interface with all facets of decision-making personnel and customer management. • Provide accurate cost, schedule and technical compliance updates to management for assigned programs to record progress on small programs or subsystems. • Work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment and provide technical leadership on small projects. Basic Qualifications (include education and years of experience required) • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering • Minimum 5 years of design experience with machinery automation, power conversion, electronics, and/or sensor and controls required. • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel) • United States citizenship, required Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge • Experience configuring and implementing generator control equipment • Strong verbal and written communication skills to aid interactions within Electrical Engineering, other internal departments and external customers. • Detail oriented, highly organized, and able to ensure multiple assignments are completed properly and on time. • Able to effectively muti-task and handle changing work assignments, schedules, and priorities. • Military design experience is a plus.
