Job Description:

The project leader’s primary scope is to:

Lead all phases of projects from design to implementation including specifications, development, testing, implementation, and rollout;
Serve as the BI architect for all new business intelligence solutions;
Be proficient in Cognos v8.x and Cognos Planning;
Make recommendations for continuous improvements to BI reporting infrastructure and processes;
Work in conjunction with the central team in Paris in developing and implementing BI solutions;
Maintain consistency with the Business intelligence roadmap;
Work with external vendors on providing solutions that are consistent with LV standards;
Provide support for existing reporting applications;
Provide a secure and efficient operations environment;
The project leader must have a thorough understanding of data warehousing / business intelligence applications and tools, systems development life cycle, and project management.
PROJECTS

For approved project or system enhancement, evaluate request and recommend appropriate solution;
Prepare analysis and design deliverables and overall project plan;
Coordinate requested changes with the central team counterparts for global reporting solutions;
Coordinate and oversee development performed by third party vendor resources;
Develop solution test plan and data quality assurance validation;
Prepare rollout and cutover plan;
Maintain relevant status and project tracking;
Create and maintain project status reports for the business.
SUPPORT

Manage and prioritize open production issues and problem resolutions for local reporting applications;
Provide local support for the global data warehouse reporting solution. Coordinate with counterparts from the central team in Paris to evaluate, recommend, and implement improvements;
Ensure data consistency across BI solutions and with source transaction systems;
Coordinate with infrastructure team for implementation and support of all BI applications;
Address production issues in a timely and efficient manner: Follow-up to ensure requests are addressed within service level agreement timeframe; 
Provide off hour support during peak business activity periods.
DOCUMENTATION

Extensively document all projects, processes and technical configurations;
Document the business processes and associated IT processes;
Provide management status reporting for all projects.

Profile

3 - 5 years of progressively increasing responsibilities in Business Intelligence and Reporting Solutions; 
 Bachelor degree or equivalent in computer science or math related field;
Knowledge of BI tools: Cognos v8.x , Cognos Planning , DataStage, Oracle, SQLServer, UNIX, Windows;
Strong project management skills;
Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and assess priorities;
Ability to work with little supervision and report accordingly;
Proficiency in all aspects of business analysis: analytical, synthetic and conceptualization skills;
Excellent written and oral communication skills;
Strong employee relationships and interpersonal skills;
Ability and desire to thrive in a high-pressure, client-services environment;
Strong organizational and excellent multi-tasking skills;
Knowledge of the retail business;
Knowledge of ControlM.
