Job Description:

The preferred candidate shall have extensive knowledge of Airframe Design with emphasis on vehicle definition and integration. Experience with helicopter airframe design will be considered a plus. The candidate must be able to work independently and conduct detail design reviews of airframe primary and secondary structures. The candidate must have experience and a good understanding of manufacturing methods (e.g. machining, airframe fabrication and assembly, composite manufacturing, welding etc.) and the associated presentation on drawings.

The candidate shall demonstrate proficiency in the application and understanding of GD&T, per ASME Y14.5M. This includes experience with detail, assembly, and installation tolerance analysis (e.g. analyze stack ups). The candidate shall demonstrate familiarity with common manufacturing aerospace processes, have a working understanding of materials and properties, and have the ability to review change packages for completeness and accuracy per Engineering Standard Work Instructions.

The preferred candidate shall have the qualifications and skills to check airframe drawings/models (CATIA 2D & 3D) to ensure compliance with design standards and engineering standard work processes. The candidate shall check accuracy of information for Engineering Change Notices and Bill of Materials. The preferred candidate shall ensure that designs meet all specifications and customer requirements and ensure design suitability for manufacturing.
