Job Description:

The Lead Engineer: Strategic Sourcing will be responsible for managing design / planning activities associated with supply chain start ups.  In addition a particular focus on international sourcing initiatives will be a significant aspect of this position.

This position is part of, the Operations Engineering group.  The focus of the Operations Engineering team is to support production deliveries, including management of budgets, resolution of Operations issues and facilitating a strong interface between Operations and the various model platforms.

The particular responsibilities for the Lead Engineer: Strategic Sourcing:

Change order speed: Identify specific design areas where the change order turn time is not at the ACE gold standard and ensure corrective actions are in place.

RTE Flow: Create and staff a process to centralize the production support RTEs (Requests to Engineering). These will come in from various IPTs and geographic areas (Mielec, Turkey, MDCC, Keystone, FAFO, Stratford).

Process Efficiency: Work with the functional group leads in each Engineering resource code to ensure the best possible application of Engineering centers (Design centers, 24/7 team, Functional Design staff, Platform deployed design staff, international Engineering centers etc.)

Critical Needs: Establish a process to identify critical to delivery change orders and track them to closure so as to not impede schedule.

International Supply Chain: Establish strong communication / support of the Enterprise strategic sourcing initiatives to ensure new international supplier start ups have the needed technical support and a clear connection to the design change boards. In addition ensure all international source change gates have the needed Engineering inputs and develop and execute staffing and execution plans. This will be done in partnership with the Operations Strategic Sourcing Team.
